TV Replay Misinformation (2-26-10)
We had it on good authority yesterday from a hockey parent who called KMOT-TV channel 10 in Minot that they would begin replay of first round games on a tape-delay basis after their coverage of the Olympics ended at 12:05 am. Our local radio station, Sunny 101.9 was making the same announcement throughout the day. But it never happened. We apologize. KMOT continued airing the Olympics until 4:00 am this morning when they switched to Oprah.

[Comment From Guest]
We've heard that GF out shot opponents 140-34 in the East Region. This would be labled a David and Golaith game. Five minutes left and Botno still playing with them. Is the East really that soft this year?

Lou Babiarz: Bringing out a stretcher. (Not good.)

Lou Babiarz: Crowd is pretty good. Bottineau fans are large in numbers relatively, and loud.

Lou Babiarz: Not all that surprised to see Williston (well, see's not the right word, I was covering Bismarck girls and just caught the tail end). Would be SHOCKED if Bottineau could keep up with GFC

Forks Herald or the Fargo Forum will work as well.)
Additional Notes: Both teams seemed very tentative in the first two
periods. It seemed like everyone wanted to play it safe and not take any
risks. The combination of Harrison Aide's goal in the last minute of the
second period, and the fact the game moved into the third period, made for
a much more exciting third period.
At 5:06 of the third period, Bottineau seemed to have scored it's second
goal which would have put the team up 2-0, but a discussion between the
refs and the goal judge ruled no-goal. I believe the officials thought the
puck hit the pipe and back out. It appeared to many on the team and
Bottineau fans in the stands to be a ringer that circled inside the net
and back out.
The BHS Braves play Mandan today (Saturday) at 12:30 in a state tournament
qualifying game. If Bottineau wins, it will be the first time the Braves
will have qualified for the state tournament since 1993. A week ago Mandan
and Bottineau (both Braves, by the way) skated to a 2-2 tie at Mandan.
